I used to leave meetings with a perception of being successful or not successful, but I wasn’t sure of what I had done right or wrong (unconscious competence / incompetence). On the other meeting we were able to uncover hidden needs from the merchandiser person (who was really behind and driving the project) and the meeting took a totally different direction so we worked on a completely different and much more appropriate solution than initially headed by the buyer, while keeping the buyer engaged as well.”
